Judith Painter

 

Has worked as an educator in the public school system for over 10 years.  A certified college counselor through UCLA, Judith worked with the national network, College Summit, as essay coach and college counselor.  More recently, she volunteered with the Montgomery County Maryland program College Tracks, as lead counselor for highly promising students from first generation, low income or international backgrounds.  Having shepherded two children through the college process as well as high school students from DC and the Sacramento areas, she is familiar with a range of regional college networks and scholarships opportunities.  A keen area of interest is working with Learning Disabled students, assisting them in testing accommodations and school selection.

 Judith has her BA from  Kenyon College and MBA from Cornell University.  Before entering the world of college counseling, she worked for several international and local non profits as both staff and consultant including, Save the Children, Catholic Relief Services, Opening Doors Inc, and FINCA. Her philosophy in college consulting is that it must be student centered and as stress free as possible. 

Sarah Aikenhead

Sarah earned a BA and an MBA from Yale University, serving 3 years in the Peace Corps between her degrees.  She has worked for a large multi-national corporation while raising her daughters.  While working with her daughters and their friends during their college application process,es Sarah recognized a passion for supporting students and their families at this exciting point in their lives, and saw an opportunity to reduce stress and improve outcomes for all.  Sarah is completing a certificate in College Counseling through UCLA Extension and is looking forward to applying all her experience and skill to working with young people through the college admissions process.  Sarah firmly believes that all students can find multiple great "fits" for their academic strengths and personal interests.
